The Sailmaker's Art designs and builds sails for all boats from dinghies to offshore cruisers. Each sail is designed to meet the unique needs of the individual sailor. We make repairs, modifications and alterations as well, so that you can get the most from your existing sails.
The Sailmaker's Art brings over 30 years of experience to serve the needs of Northwest sailors. Work from our sail loft has served boats entered in the Royal Victoria Yacht Club's Race, race boats on Fern Ridge Lake, club racers, hand-built traditional wooden boats, ocean cruisers and an Atkins gaff rigged cutter that spent ten years circumnavigating the globe.
Racing experience: The Danforth Series (a coastal ocean race series originating at Saint Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco), Los Angeles to Tahiti-Transpac, the Swiftsure Race, Port Angeles Yacht Club's year-round club racing and Shaw Island Classic in the San Juan Islands.
Cruising experience: Tahiti, Tuamotus, Marquesas and Tubai Islands in the South Pacific. Passage from the Marquesas to San Francisco. Cruising in the Sea of Cortez, Puget Sound, San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands. Passage along the California coast from Fort Bragg to San Diego and sailing in the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean.
